Women of Influence BOM Project

For our 2009 Block of the Month project, we have partnered with Marcus Fabrics. Marcus has made available the exact fabric Sarah Maxwell and Dolores Smith are using in the Women of Influence quilt. For a shop to participate in this program, they simply sign up with Kansas City Star Quilts. Each month starting in January 2009, we will send you patterns for that month's block. You will order your fabric separately from Marcus.

About the project:

“Women of Influence” celebrates women’s suffrage. In 2010, America will celebrate the 90th anniversary of women securing the right to vote. The women who convened the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848 could not have imagined that it would take more than 70 years to attain this fundamental right. Many women fought for equality and voting rights throughout these years. This project will highlight 12 of those women who influenced the history of women’s rights, a different woman each month.

The project is a combination of piecing and applique, and is offered in two colorways.
